See the image below. If you need to solve HDD password locked problem, you can run HDDPW.EXE 1. Key in “hddpw 15494 0” 2. Following the suggestion of old posts in this forums, I got my hands on the old (secret) HP utilities unlock6.exe, biospw.exe, hddpw.exe. By entering the 'system hash code' in these utilites I can generate several passwords, unfortunately none of those work. The older unlock6 is dated 1997. Changelog DVBViewer Pro 5.3.2.Add: Playback: While the seek bar slider in the control bar is dragged with the mouse DVBViewer continuously shows the picture at the current position (only if a custom video renderer or overlay is used, not on DVD playback).

1. Make sure that HDD is drive original from acer factory.
compare sticker bar code (5-6 letters last end) on HDD same with sticker on bottom case cover or sticker on DDR module.
2. Input any letter as password 3x to get hash code (of course are wrong password).
3. Hash code is important key. So make note after appear it.
3. Tool only work on DOS mode.
prepare a removable usb stick for doing job. (rufus/hiren/free dos or whatever).
another option you can try on any pc/laptop to run in DOS mode via cmd hdd_pw.exe maybe require NTVDM (maybe doesn't work, I'm not sure for you. In my case 100% work).
4. Since it is TOSHIBA HDD, be aware. Toshiba HDD is notorious very weak when you try to force ON and OFF the notebook at many time.
5. Read all procedure carefully, try to understand points by points exactly.
6. I'm pretty sure youtube has a lot video about unlock HDD.
7. 3 point important as the keys all job, HDD is original from acer, hash code and DOS.
